EO/IR Tracking Systems

Electro-Optical and Infrared (EO/IR) Tracking Systems are designed to provide day-and-night visual detection, identification and continuous tracking of aerial targets. Combining high-definition daylight cameras, thermal imaging sensors and precision-stabilized platforms, these systems enable operators to verify objects detected by radar, RF detectors or other airspace-surveillance sensors.

EO/IR systems can deliver real-time video, optical and thermal imagery, allowing operators to distinguish UAVs from birds and other objects while assessing target type, direction and behavior. High-magnification optical zoom supports long-range daytime observation, while cooled or uncooled thermal imaging provides reliable visibility in darkness and challenging lighting conditions.

Advanced image processing and automatic target-tracking functions help maintain continuous observation of small or fast-moving objects. When integrated with radar or RF detection systems, EO/IR platforms can automatically receive target coordinates, point toward the designated area and begin visual tracking and identification.

Typical capabilities include:

  • Day-and-night visual surveillance
  • High-definition daylight imaging
  • Infrared and thermal imaging
  • Long-range optical zoom
  • Automatic target acquisition and tracking
  • Precision pan-and-tilt positioning
  • Image stabilization and enhancement
  • Real-time video transmission and recording
  • Visual verification and target classification
  • Multi-target switching and observation
  • Automatic cueing from radar or RF detectors
  • Fixed-site, portable and vehicle-mounted deployment
  • Integration with command-and-control platforms
  • Optional laser rangefinding and target geolocation

EO/IR tracking solutions can be configured according to the required observation distance, field of view, sensor resolution, thermal technology, environmental conditions and system-integration requirements. They support airports, borders, critical infrastructure, industrial facilities, public events and other protected locations requiring reliable visual confirmation and continuous aerial-target tracking.
