Portable Patient Monitors

Portable Patient Monitors are compact multiparameter medical devices designed to provide real-time observation of essential physiological parameters during emergency treatment, patient transport, field care and temporary clinical operations. Lightweight construction, integrated displays and independent battery power allow trained medical personnel to maintain continuous awareness of a patient’s condition outside conventional hospital environments.

Depending on the model and intended application, available monitoring parameters may include electrocardiography (ECG), heart rate, non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP), oxygen saturation (SpO₂), respiratory rate and body temperature. Advanced configurations may also support invasive blood pressure, end-tidal carbon dioxide (EtCO₂) and other specialized measurements.

High-visibility displays present waveforms, numerical values, trends and alarm information through an intuitive interface. Configurable visual and audible alarms notify users when measured values exceed established limits. Internal storage can support trend review, event recording and transfer of patient data to external systems.

Rugged housings, carrying handles and mounting accessories support handheld, stretcher, ambulance and bedside use. Rechargeable batteries, vehicle-power adapters and external power supplies help maintain operation during extended transport and field deployment.

Typical capabilities include:

  • Multiparameter vital-sign monitoring
  • ECG and heart-rate measurement
  • Non-invasive blood-pressure monitoring
  • SpO₂ and pulse-rate measurement
  • Respiratory-rate and temperature monitoring
  • Optional EtCO₂ and invasive-pressure parameters
  • Real-time waveforms and numerical display
  • Configurable visual and audible alarms
  • Trend storage and event review
  • Patient-data recording and export
  • Adult, paediatric and neonatal modes
  • Rechargeable battery and external power options
  • Stretcher, vehicle and bedside mounting accessories
  • Rugged, compact and portable construction
  • Connection to central monitoring or data platforms

Portable patient-monitor solutions can be configured according to required parameters, patient groups, transport environment, battery duration and system-integration needs. Medical-device registration, electrical safety, alarm performance and measurement accuracy should be verified for the intended market. Operation and interpretation should be performed by appropriately trained healthcare personnel.
